Nice. Just frickin' fabulous.

Babble on.

*%$#%^*& Blogspot just lost an entire post. That's twice this week. I swear, if I knew thing-one about how to run a site outside of idiot-proof Blogspot, I'd be doing it in a New York minute. Unfortunately, I'm completely lost when it comes to code.

Time to start retyping, I guess.

Babble off.

Damian, I'm afraid this problem isn't unique to blogger. The best practice is to type into a text editor, saving frequently, and then cut and paste into blogger's posting window. This way you don't lose your content if blogger, or more commonly, your Web browser barfs.

I'd be happy to help you set up your own site if you're interested. Contact info here:

I guess that's the advantage of moblogging. I just e-mail mine in from my Treo or my desk. If the host loses it, I can just re-send it 'cause it's sitting in my Sent folder...

On the other hand though there's something to be said for idiot-proof systems run by other I.T. jerks. I spend my days overseeing and maintaining a hundred odd servers across the country. The last thing I want to do when I come home is spend more time in front of the monitor worrying about my own little corner of the web. Better (from my perspective, anyway) to let some other I.T. department handle the hassles so I can go out and play. =)

I've endured the same annoying thing, Damian. I finally started doing what Sean suggested: typing a post up in Word and then pasting it to blogger. Slightly less covenient, but far less hassle than losing your entire post.

Sean - did you have a hand in designing and programming Polspy? It's one of the best looking and functioning sites around. I may come trolling for advice myself at some point.

I'm in the process of helping Meatriarchy move off of blogspot to his own domain. Let me know if you want help...

Blogspot does have it's challenges. For example it always takes me a minimum of three minutes to open the bloody comment window and the same to save a comment.

It was one of the reasons I decided to go with Typepad when I started my blog. It is only US$4.95 per month and I have been very pleased with it.

You might consider having a look at it Damian.
